Please read these Terms carefully. By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by any policies referenced in them. If you are accepting these Terms on behalf of a company or other legal entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity, and "you" refers to that entity. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Services.
Balad is a Central Bank of Egypt ("CBE")–licensed remittance aggregator that provides cross-border payout infrastructure into Egypt for businesses such as money transfer operators, banks, and fintech platforms. Our Services allow eligible business partners to route payouts into Egypt through bank accounts, mobile wallets, and cash-pickup networks by way of a single integration.
These Terms cover your use of our public website and developer-facing resources. They are not a payment services agreement. Any commercial provision of payout, settlement, foreign-exchange, or related regulated services is governed by a separate written agreement between you and Balad (a "Commercial Agreement", such as a Master Services Agreement, Partner Agreement, or order form). Where these Terms conflict with a signed Commercial Agreement, the Commercial Agreement controls with respect to the services it covers.
The Services are intended for businesses and their authorised representatives, not for consumers. By using the Services you represent that you are at least 18 years old, that you are accessing the Services for business or professional purposes, and that you and your organisation are able to enter into a binding agreement under applicable law. Balad does not provide services directly to individual senders or recipients through these Terms.
To access certain parts of the Services — such as the partner dashboard, sandbox, or production APIs — you may be required to complete onboarding, including business verification ("KYB"), and to receive account credentials, API keys, or tokens.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and API keys, for all activity that occurs under them, and for ensuring that only authorised personnel have access. You agree to notify us promptly at security@balad.me if you suspect any unauthorised access to or use of your account or credentials. Balad is not liable for any loss arising from your failure to safeguard your credentials.
You agree to use the Services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not, and must not permit any third party to:
We may suspend or restrict access to the Services, with or without notice, where we reasonably believe your use breaches these Terms, creates security or regulatory risk, or may harm Balad, our partners, or third parties.
As a regulated entity, Balad is subject to anti-money-laundering, counter-terrorist-financing, and sanctions obligations. You agree to comply with all applicable laws in this area and to cooperate with reasonable requests for information, documentation, or verification. You represent that you are not, and are not acting on behalf of, any person or entity that is subject to sanctions administered or enforced by any competent authority. We may screen, delay, decline, or report activity as required to meet our legal and regulatory obligations, and nothing in these Terms requires us to act in a way that would breach those obligations.
We may modify, update, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Services at any time, with or without notice, including features, endpoints, or documentation. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Balad will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the Services made available under these Terms.
We may provide you with information that is marked as confidential or that, given its nature or the circumstances of disclosure, should reasonably be treated as confidential — including API documentation, technical materials, and non-public details about the Services ("Confidential Information"). You agree to use Confidential Information only as necessary to use the Services, to protect it with reasonable care, and not to disclose it to any third party except as required by law. All Confidential Information remains the property of Balad. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right or licence in Confidential Information beyond what is expressly stated.
The Services and all content and materials made available through them — including software, APIs, developer tools, sample code, libraries, data, text, designs, images, logos, and documentation ("Intellectual Property") — belong to Balad or its licensors, with all rights reserved. You may use the Services only as permitted by these Terms and any applicable Commercial Agreement, and solely as necessary in connection with the Services.
Except as expressly permitted, you agree not to (and not to enable others to) copy, modify, reverse engineer, disassemble, decompile, translate, or attempt to derive the source code of the Services, or to reproduce, distribute, republish, display, transmit, sell, or create derivative works from the Services or their content.
The "Balad" name, logo, and other Balad marks are trademarks of Balad. Third-party names, logos, and marks appearing in the Services (including those of banks, wallets, and partners) are the property of their respective owners, and their appearance does not imply any endorsement, affiliation, or partnership unless expressly stated.
Nothing in these Terms grants you any licence or right to use any Intellectual Property of Balad or any third party without prior written authorisation. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
The Services may rely on, integrate with, or link to services, websites, or resources provided by third parties. Your use of those services is subject to the third party's own terms and privacy policies, and Balad is not responsible for their content, availability, or practices. We may use third-party providers to help deliver the Services, and your use of the affected features constitutes your agreement to any applicable third-party terms presented to you.
If you provide suggestions, ideas, comments, or other feedback about the Services ("Feedback"), you grant Balad a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive right to use and exploit that Feedback for any purpose, including improving the Services, without any obligation or compensation to you.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
Subject to the following paragraph, you and Balad agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Cairo, Egypt, for the resolution of any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date above. Except where applicable law requires otherwise, your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree with a change, you must stop using the Services. Please review these Terms periodically.
